PURPOSE:To obtain good discharge performance even in high rate discharge by filling paste prepared by mixing cobalt powder and beta-Co(OH)2 or CoO with nickel hydroxide in a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Paste mainly comprising nickel hydroxide is filled in a substrate. The paste is prepared by mixing 5-20 pts.wt. cobalt powder and 5-20 pts.wt. beta-Co(OH)2 or CoO (the sum of them does not exceed 30 pts.wt.) with 100 pts.wt. nickel hydroxide. The beta-Co(OH)2 or CoO effectively accepts and releases electrons on the surface of the nickel hydroxide, and conductivity of the nickel hydroxide with the substrate is improved by a current collecting network formed with the oxide of cobalt powder. |
