PURPOSE:To suppress the change in the film properties of a recording layer so as to increase the adhesive power between a substrate and the recording layer and to improve the durability thereof by forming a dielectric layer of components contg. specific elements. CONSTITUTION:The dielectric layer of the recording medium having the recording layer and the dielectric layer on a substrate is formed of at least one kind of the metal selected from Zr, Ta, Ti and the components contg. silicon, oxygen and carbon. While the compsn. of the respective components is not particularly limited, the preferably contents of the respective components in the dielectric layer are 3-40atomic% metal, 5-30atomic% silicon, 5-70atomic% oxygen, and 3-40atomic% carbon ranges. The recording medium which suppresses the change in the film properties of the recording layer and the deterioration of the performance thereof and has the high adhesive power to the recording layer is thereby obtd. |
