A drive mechanism having two pedal arms 1,2 for use in a stationary exercise bike or a conventional bicycle having front and rear wheels has pedal arms 1,2 of differing length, the crankcase 7 of the long pedal arm lying essentially directly above the crankcase 8 of the short pedal arm. In the lowermost position for the pedal 4 of the short pedal arm, this pedal lies on a radius from the axis 5 of the long pedal arm which is essentially equal to the radius from this axis to the pedal 3 of the long pedal arm. |
