Harness-making machine has a connector installing station, a staging zone (49) adjacent to the installing station for holding a stack of connectors (6), and a cable dispensing or feeding unit (46) adjacent to the staging zone (49). Cable is fed from the feeding unit (46) through the staging zone (49) to the installing station at which the leading connector on the stack is installed on the cable (4). The dispensing unit (46) has a cable guide (126) which extends through the staging zone (49) to the installing station thereby to protect the cable (4) from the terminals which extend from the connectors (6) contained in the staging zone (49). This guide (126) thereby prevents jamming of the machine which can occur if cable movement through the staging zone (49) is impeded by the terminals. |
