PURPOSE:To equalize the absorption of excitation light in laser fiber flux, and to oscillate laser beams having uniform intensity distribution by selecting the quantity of oscillation ions doped to each optical fiber arranged at each position in the laser fiber flux. CONSTITUTION:With laser fiber flux 1, phosphate laser glass containing Nd as oscillation ions is used as the core material, approximately 1300 optical fibers having diameters of approximately 110mum are bundled to the laser glass while employing phosphate glass, characteristics of which coincide with those of said glass, as a clad material, and cylindrical laser fiber flux having a diameter of approximately 4.6mm is formed. The quantity of Nd doped to the optical fibers disposed in a region E1 at a distance within 0.4mm from the center C of the laser fiber flux 1 is brought to 3%, the quantity of Nd doped to the optical fibers arranged in a region E2 at a distance within a range of 0.4 to 1.2mm from the center C to 7% and the quantity of Nd doped to the optical fibers disposed in a region E3 at a distance within a range of 1.2 to 2.3mm from the center C to 3%. Accordingly, the oscillation of laser beams having uniform light intensity in the whole beam cross section is enabled. |
