<p>A method and apparatus are described for treating sewage solids containing, typically, inorganic matter and non-biodegradable matter as well as biologically degradable constituents. The solids are comminuted and retained in a tank seeded with activated sludge and aerated. The non-degradable constituents, relatively free from obnoxious matter, are removed from the tank by screening.</p> |
