<p>In a laminar material or workpiece comprising a functional layer applied to a surface of a solid support layer and composed of mutually insoluble components which normally form a heterogeneous structure, a fine dispersion of the undissolved components in a matrix of the functional layer is obtained by forming a powder, a powder agglomerate or a pre-dispersed powder from the components of the functional layer by an air plasma jet and applying it to the support layer. The plasma flame is adjusted to that only small, separate regions of intermetallic compounds are produced in the region of the bond between support layer and functional layer or between support layer and an additional adhesive layer, but so that in the vicinity of these small, separate regions of intermetallic compounds a strong diffusion bond is obtained between support layer and functional layer or between support layer and adhesive layer.</p> |
