<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the size of the title EP and to remarkably improve the dust collection efficiency by separating the cross section of a duct to form plural small ducts, using the inner surface of each small duct as a dust collecting electrode, and providing a rod-shaped discharge electrode at the center of each duct. CONSTITUTION:The duct-type EP 11a consists of an assembly of the small- diameter dust collectors having an internal discharge electrode 14, surrounded with respective dust collecting electrodes 12, and arranged in parallel. Accordingly, the diameter of the space surrounded with the respective dust collecting electrodes 12 is decreased, the space charge is reduced, and hence a high current can be applied. Since the dust collection efficiency is proportional to the current, and extremely high-preformance EP can be obtained. In addition, since a high current can be supplied, the performance is not deteriorated even under high- flow-velocity conditions, and sufficient performance is exhibited even with a duct size.</p> |
