摘要 <p>A laminated material or workpiece comprises a support layer and a functional layer, in particular a sliding layer, having the structure of a solid but fusible dispersion with a matrix in which is dispersed at least one component which, at least in the solid state, is insoluble in the material of the matrix or soluble in the latter only in quantities less than those present. The structure of the functional layer may also include a fusible quantity of possibly partially crystalline components mutually soluble only in quantities less than those present and which can be used for tribological purposes. The exposed surface of the functional layer is transformed to another structure of the dispersion alloy or of the quantity by a surface treatment, in particular by melting followed by rapid cooling from the molten state. This results in a fine distribution of the undissolved components and the material in these surface regions solidifies into this finer structure. These surface regions can have a thickness between 20 νm and 500 νm, preferably between 50 νm and 100 νm. The structural transformation is effected using a plasma flame in a closely delimited range of action, which is moved continuously over the surface to be treated. One or more adjacent plasma flames are used to form a small melt which cools rapidly immediately the plasma flame moves relative to the laminar material or workpiece, and solidifies to form a more finely dispersed structure.</p>
