NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R<1> is (substituted) aromatic group or heterocyclic group; R<2> is H, lower alkylcarbonyl, (substituted) aromatic carbonyl or heterocyclic carbonyl; X is O or S). EXAMPLE:4-(3,4-Dimethoxy-2-hydroxy-6-methyl-5-nicotinoyloxy)phenyl-4-p henyl-1- thiomorpholino-1-oxobutane. USE:An ameliorating and remedying agent effective against intracerebral organic disorder or pathergasia by oral administration. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced either by heating and reacting a compound of formula II with morpholine or thiomorpholine in an inert solvent such as benzene or toluene or by further reacting the reaction product with a carboxylic acid of formula R<3>COOH (R<3> is (substituted) lower alkyl, aromatic group or heterocyclic group), its anhydride or halide. |
