PURPOSE:To prevent or suppress the chemical reaction of a thin film layer and corrosive elements and to obtain the optical information recording medium having a long life by using a substrate subjected to a baking treatment as a resin substrate. CONSTITUTION:The thin film layer 3 consisting of a recording layer or reflecting layer is formed on one face of the substrate 1 and pregrooves 4 and prepits 5 are provided on the signal pattern forming surface thereof. The substrate 1 consists of a transparent resin material such as polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate or epoxy and the material subjected to the baking treatment is used. The baking treatment conditions are properly set at need. The substrate 1 subjected to the baking treatment in such a manner is capable of preventing the infiltration of the corrosive elements into the layer 3. The chemical reaction of the thin film layer and the corrosive elements is thereby prevented or suppressed even if the medium is rested in a high-temp. high- humidity environment.
