OPTICAL FILTER AND PHOTOELECTRIC SENSOR USING SAME

PURPOSE:To obtain a color filter which is easily made fine in a simple process at low cost with superior productivity by varying the thickness of a thin film and thus varying the wavelength of light passing through a transparent insulating substrate. CONSTITUTION:This optical filter consists of the transparent insulating substrate 1 and the thin film 2 which is formed in contact with the transparent insulating substrate 1 and has a different refractive index from at least the transparent insulating substrate 1. Then the wavelength of the light passing through the transparent insulating substrate 1 is varied by varying the thickness of the thin film 2. Consequently, the film thickness of the thin film can be varied, so the optical filter which has superior productivity can be obtained at low cost. Further, the photoelectric sensor can be constituted only by providing a photoelectric converting element D at a position corresponding to the optical fiber across the transparent insulating substrate 1, so the photoelectric sensor which has the superior productivity is obtained at the low cost.
