PURPOSE:To enhance the operating efficiency of a printing press by replacing an impression cylinder within a short time, by providing an impression cylinder indexing means for indexing one of two or more kinds of impression cylinders at a predetermined position and fixing a revolving plate to a support member in this state. CONSTITUTION:When a web 33 is printed using an impression cylinder 10, an index pin 23 is pulled off from the second insert hole and a revolving plate 8 is revolved by 180 deg. to retract an impression cylinder 9 used heretofore from the web 33 and the impression cylinder 10 to be used next is set along the web 33. In this state, the index pin 23 is passed through the first insert hole 24 to fix the revolving plate 8 to a support member (support arm) 6. Thereafter, an air cylinder 27 is operated and the support member 6 is allowed to fall while guided by a guide means (pin) to press the impression cylinder 10 set along the web 33 to a plate cylinder 1. The web 33 is allowed to run in this state to apply printing to the web 33 by the cooperative action of the impression cylinder 10 and the plate cylinder 1. |
