The invention relates to a braking device for a baby carriage. The device comprises a braking member 4 which is received with clearance by its support 7 and which is returned via a spring 8 to its braking position. Under the action of a control member 6, the braking member 4 may selectively, by virtue of its mounting clearance, be inclined angularly so that, when the control member 6 is released, the spring 8 displaces the member 4 parallel to itself to bring it either into the braking position, or into the inactive stop position. <IMAGE>
