Pressure regulator with protective diaphragm against icing of the regulator diaphragm

In the expansion of a gas, especially here in liquid-gas pressure regulators, a severe drop in temperature occurs which, especially at external temperatures around freezing point, affects the pressure regulator unfavourably in respect of the formation of water of condensation above the regulator diaphragm from the breathing air and, inside the gas input union, from water vapour in the gas phase. If this condensate freezes, the ice formation leads to disturbances in the regulator function and thus in the gas supply. A protective diaphragm with a safety device allows gas blowing out of the diaphragm safety valve to be led away into the atmosphere and the diaphragm space still to be kept free from moist atmospheric air. An additional emergency feed-in device for supplying gas out of a substitute container in the event of failure of the gas supply because of icing of the gas input union is also the subject-matter of the invention.
