The mast (1), which is received by a pipe (10) anchored vertically in the ground, is retained, in the upper region of the pipe, merely by a continuous rubber ring (25) which is subjected to pressure. The rubber ring is capable of damping vibrations. The rubber ring bears on a plate (20) welded on the pipe and is subjected to pressure by a metal ring (24) which is drawn firmly against the plate by a plurality of screws (23) and thereby presses, with an upright conical leg (24b), against a corresponding cone surface of the rubber ring. <IMAGE>
