摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound, having definite peaks in specific Bragg angles on an X-ray diffraction pattern and capable of providing electrophotographic sensitive materials excellent in exposure sensitivity, deterioration, printing resistance and image stability by combination thereof with a styryl based charge-transfer agent as a charge forming agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound, obtained by reacting phthalodinitrile with vanadium pentoxide in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidine at 200 deg.C for 8hr, removing the solvent by steam distillation and purifying the resultant product and having definite peaks at positions of 27.2 deg.; 7.5 deg. and 27.2 deg.; 7.5 deg., 27.2 deg. and 28.6 deg.; 7.5 deg., 24.2 deg., 27.2 deg. and 28.6 deg. of Bragg angles (2theta+ or -0.2 deg.) on an X-ray diffraction pattern. Furthermore, the resultant compound as a charge forming agent can be applied to an electrically conductive support using a styryl based compound expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, aryl, etc.; R3-R5 are H or NR1R2; n is 0 or 1) as a charge-transfer agent to afford an electrophotographic sensitive material.
