Joint-bridging construction

The joint-bridging construction has at least one sealing element made of elastomeric material which covers a joint and can be attached, by means of edge beads formed on it in the longitudinal direction, to edge supports fastened to the joint edges. A channel (20) with a vertical intermediate web (7) dividing the channel in two is formed in the edge supports (3), the structure-side and the joint-side side wall (11 and 12, respectively) of the channel being inclined inwards and a projection which reaches into the channel and engages over the structure-side rib of the edge bead (4) divided up by the intermediate web (7) being formed on the structure-side side wall. <IMAGE>
