<p>PURPOSE: To make an expensive vessel structure unnecessary by forming an air-absorbing filter material, which is contained in a vessel disposed in an air- introducing and air-exhaust means, from a fuel-resistant plastics in the form of an open cell sponge of fleece. CONSTITUTION: A vent pipe 2 extending from a fuel tank 1 for introducing and discharging air is connected to a vessel 3 containing a filtering material 5 via a connection pipe 4. Further, a second connection pipe 6 is connected to the vessel 3, and connected pipe 6 to an intake and exhaust vent pipe 7 of a suction system 8 of an internal combustion engine 9. In this case, the filtering material 5 is made of a fuel-resistant plastics (polyurethane, polyether sulphone, etc.), in the form of an open cell sponge or fleece to adsorb and absorb vaporized fuel generated in the tank 1. The plastics may contain an activator and other organic or inorganic adsorbent, if necessary.</p> |
