PURPOSE:To ensure the proper support of a load and keep a temperature rise low while proper rigidity being maintained by using a piezoelectric actuator as a pressing element and providing a controller for applying desired voltage to the piezoelectric actuator. CONSTITUTION:A roller bearing 4 has a plurality of rolling elements 3 between an inner race 1 and an outer race 2. Piezoelectric actuators 14 and 15 of cylindrical form are clamped between the inner edges of outer races 1 of a pair of roller bearings 4, and between the outer edge of the outer ring 1 of the other roller bearing 4 and a step part 13 formed on the internal surface of a bearing housing 9. Each of the actuators 14 and 15 is applied with the predetermined voltage from voltage generators 16 and 17 and a proper preload is applied depending upon the condition of a rotation support part. According to the aforesaid construction, the support of a load can be ensured and a temperature rise can be kept low while proper rigidity is being maintained. |
