3-Fluoropyridyl-2-oxy-phenoxy derivatives having herbicidal activity

There are described novel 3-fluoropyridyl-2-oxy derivatives having a herbicidal action and an action reducing the growth of grasses, which compounds correspond to the formula I <IMAGE> (I) wherein X is halogen or the trifluoromethyl group, and Z is an alkanoic acid derivative which is more precisely described in the specification. These compounds are suitable for the selective control of weeds in crops of cultivated plants, or for the reduction of the growth of grasses.
