PURPOSE:To obtain the title liq. capable of increasing its viscosity by application of voltage and maintaining electric response for a prolonged period of time, by constituting a combination of a dispersion phase composed of a fine powder of a particular nonionic polymer with a liq. phase composed of an insulating oil. CONSTITUTION:1-60wt.% fine powder (A) of a nonionic polymer which has a water content of 0.1-20wt.%, an average particle size of 0.05-100mum, a principal chain composed of an oxyalkylene chain and terminals blocked with OH or ester groups, or a fine powder of a nonionic polymer of at least 20,000 in average MW having a principal chain contg. an ester group is dispersed and suspended in 99-40wt.% insulating oil (B) (e.g., silicone oil) having a viscosity at 25 deg.C of 0.65-500cSt. Thus, an electroviscous liq. having a dispersion phase of component (A) and a liq. phase of component (B) is obtd. |
