PURPOSE:To provide the title board which is light in weight and has excellent heat resistance, fire resistance, strength, etc., by impregnating an inorg. silicate expanded polymer essentially consisting of silicate with a (non)woven fabric consisting of org. fibers or forming the polymer layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:The fire-retardant flexible board 3 is produced by impregnating the inorg. silicate expanded polymer 2, which consists essentially of silicate (e.g.; sodium silicate) and contains necessary additives such as magnesium chloride, sodium silicofluoride and surfactant, to a core material consisting of the woven or nonwoven fabric of org. fibers and preferably forming the inorg. silicate expanded polymer layer 2' further on the core material 1. The resulted flexible board 3 hardly generates expansion, shrinkage, deformation, etc., by heat and has a heat insulating effect; therefore, this board is adequately used as an interior backing material, etc., adapted particularly to a curved wall. The core material 1 is adequately the (non)woven fabric formed by using fibers of polyester, polyamide, etc. |
