PURPOSE:To readily stabilize enzymatic activity and to improve efficiency, by reacting a specific amide with D-alpha-amino acid amide hydrolase in the presence of a mercapto group. CONSTITUTION:Rhodococcus erythropolis, etc. is cultivated in a medium containing peptone, etc. to give D-alpha-amino acid amide hydrolase (A), cell and/or a treated substance thereof. Then 1-40wt.% DL-alpha-amino acid amide shown by the formula [R is lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl, (substituted)phenyl, furyl, pyridyl, thiazolyl, imidazolyl or indolyl] is blended with 10<-6>-10<-2>Mol/L mercapto group-containing compound such as cysteine, etc. and the enzyme A in the weight ratio to the component B of 0.005-10 to give a reaction solution (D). Then the solution D is treated at 0-70 deg.C at pH 5-13 and D-alpha-amino acid is collected from the reaction solution. |
