PURPOSE:To continue the transmission of a picture data while keeping inter- frame prediction coding and to decrease the effect of occurrence of an error automatically by selecting a prediction coefficient to be less than the unity in the detection of an error of a received picture data and transmitting the information of error detection to an opposite side. CONSTITUTION:The equipment A being the sender side sends a picture data for inter-frame coding through a transmission line E, it is received by an equipment B to apply inter-frame decoding, then a prediction coefficient used for decoding in case of detecting an error in a picture data received by the equipment B is changed from the unity to a value less than the unity. Moreover, the error detection information is sent through a transmission line C and the prediction coefficient used for coding the equipment A is changed similarly. Thus, the effect of error is gradually decreased by continuing the change of the prediction coefficient for a prescribed period and the effect of error is suppressed without reducing the transmission efficiency. |
