PURPOSE:To improve the sharpness, the graininess and the color-reproducibility of the photosensitive material by incorporating a compd. capable of forming a elute type coupling reaction product by a coupling reaction with the oxidant of a color developing main agent in at least one layer of the emulsion layer and/or the nonphotosensitive intermediate layer contd. in the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The emulsion layer having a color sensitive property which is composed of a silver halide emulsion layer comprising two or more layers having different sensitivities respectively, has the higher sensitivity in at least one layer closer to a supporting body than in the layer far away from the supporting body. The compd. capable of forming the elute type coupling reaction product by the coupling reaction with the oxidant of the color developing main agent is incorporated in at least one layer of the emulsion layer and/or the nonphotosensitive intermediate layer mounted on the supporting body. Namely, the compd. has a stabilizing group capable of making said compd. to a passive state at a coupling position, and a solubilizing group capable of giving fluidity to the coupling reaction product formed after the coupling reaction of the compd. with the oxidant of the color developing main agent at a noncoupling position. Thus, the color-reproducibility, the graininess and the sharpness of the photosensitive material are improved. |
