PURPOSE:To enhance color forming properties and the stability of developed color images, by incorporating an electron-donative colorless dye and a mixture of zinc salts of salicylic acid derivatives obtained by bringing two specified salicylic acid derivatives into reaction with a zinc composed. CONSTITUTION:A recording material comprises an electron-donative colorless dye and a mixture of zinc salts of saliyclic acid derivatives obtained by bringing sali//yclic acid derivatives of general formulas (I) and (II) into reaction with a zinc compound. In the formulas, each of X and Y is hydrogen, an alkyl, alkoxyl, aryl or halogen, R is a divalent group, and each of R11-R14 is hydrogen, an alkyl, alkoxyl, aryl, acyl or halogen. Each of the salicyclic acid derivatives preferably has a total of 13 or more carbon atoms in the molecule thereof, from the viewpoint of insolubility in water. Particularly, the compound of general formula (I) preferably has a total of 23 or more carbon atoms in the molecule thereof. The amount of the salicyclic acid derivative of the general formula (I) is preferably 5-50mol% based on the total amount of the two salicyclic acid derivatives. |
