PURPOSE:To prevent the over-replenishment of ink in an initial stage of printing to eliminate the degradation of printing quality and decrease a change in printing density in the same stage, by a method wherein a transfer roller of an ink replenishing mechanism is made of an unimpregnated porous substance. CONSTITUTION:In an ink ribbon cassette 2, an ink ribbon 1 is held between a drive roll 3 and a follower gear roll to run in a direction C, meanwhile being applied with a tension by a plate spring 6 at and around an outlet of an ink ribbon containing part 5 to run again into the ink ribbon cassette 2. The running tension of the ink ribbon 1 rotates a transfer roller 7, which is in contact with the ink ribbon 1 and made of an unimpregnated porous substance, in a direction D. Then, an ink-impregnated roller 8 in contact with the transfer roller 7 rotates in a direction E, whereby an ink is transferred to the ink ribbon 1 through the transfer roller 7. As the unimpregnated porous substance used for the transfer roller 7, such a material as NBR, SBR, urethane, nylon, polyethylene, polyvinyl acetate, and polyvinyl chloride is accordingly used because of its resistance to oil and resistance to chemicals with a preferable void volume of 25-80%. |
