A compressor of the outwardly-sliding-vane type comprises a casing 12 defining a cylinder containing a rotor, a plate 10 carrying said casing and a shell B secured by a ring 16 and screws 18, and a V-belt pulley 24 coupled to the rotor by an electromagnetic clutch 22 actuated by a temperature-responsive control (not shown), the plate 10 being furnished with radial projections (34), Fig. 2 (not shown), by which it can be bolted to a mounting bracket (40). An additional mounting- bracket 42 may be attached to the shell as shown. Working fluid e.g. a refrigerant, enters the casing through a passage 30 in the plate and is discharged through a valve assembly (not shown) into the space within the shell whence it enters a discharge line through a fitting 32. |
