PURPOSE:To improve strength and density by rolling a high-purity beryllium sheet formed by a vapor growth process to remove bubbles existing inside. CONSTITUTION:A thin beryllium film is formed on a substrate by the vapor growth process and then the substrate is subjected to melting, etc., by which a beryllium sheet is prepared. Subsequently, hot- or cold-rolling is applied to the above sheet to remove micro-bubbles in the inner part of the sheet. By this method, the above-mentioned thin beryllium sheet can be made high-density and high-strength. |
