PURPOSE:To increase the calorie of gas generated in a blast furnace by charging waste tires into the furnace and carrying out the dry distillation of the tires simultaneously with the reduction of ore. CONSTITUTION:Waste tires are transferred with a skip car 1 and stored in a fixed hopper 2 by utilizing idle time when iron ore, etc., are charged into a blast furnace. A small bell 3 and a large bell 4 are moved to charge the tires into the furnace. The tires fall in layers together with iron ore, etc., and are thermally decomposed and gasified by dry distillation. The calorie of gas generated in the blast furnace can be increased. |
