<p>PURPOSE:The titled lubricating and composition remarkably excellent in a fuel saving effect, which is prepd. by incorporating an alkali metal borate hydrate and a specified viscosity index modifier in a large proportion of a lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A multi-grade diesel engine oil compsn. excellent in a fuel saving effect, which is prepd. by incorporating 0.1-5.0wt% alkali metal borate hydrate and 0.2-20.0wt% at least one viscosity index modifier selected from the group consisting of a polyalkyl methacrylate, an ethylene/propylene copolymer, a hydrogenated styrene/diene copolymer and an esterified or amide-contg. styrene/ maleic anhydride copolymer in a large proportion of a lubricating oil.</p> |
