An electrical device (2) intended for surface mounting has an insulating body (20) and leads (12) extending from the body (20). Each lead (12) has an integral spring portion and an end portion (50). The insulating body (20) has an aligning or locating stop (66) and the lead (12) adjacent to its end has a lead locating portion (80) biased against the locating stop (66) by the integral spring. The locating stop (66) thus ensures that the extreme ends (14) of the leads (12) will be in aligned coplanar relationship.
