Process for the production of a composite ceramic material, according to which a fibrous structure is formed to begin with and is then embedded in the material of a ceramic matrix.
<??>According to the invention, to introduce the said matrix into the said structure, the following sequence of operations is carried out:
a) the said fibre support is impregnated with the aid of a polymerisation catalyst for an organometallic precursor of the said ceramic matrix;
b) the said fibre support impregnated with the said polymerisation catalyst is placed in contact with the said organometallic precursor;
c) the said organometallic precursor is polymerised; and
d) the said organometallic precursor is pyrolysed to obtain the said matrix.
