Polymers of carbon monoxide with ethene and optionally one or more C3-20 alpha-olefins in which the CO and olefin-derived monomer units alternate in linear chains, having a limiting viscosity number of more than 15, are obtained by polymerization under specified conditions of temperature, pressure, partial pressure ratios, and temperature-pressure relationships.
