The sheet metal bending machine has a ram (13) with a top tool body on its lower end above a bottom tool (16). The top tool body has corner and die seghments (1A,B) engagable with a workpiece. Each corner die segment has a main body (71) and an operable die segment portion (72,102). A link is mounted inside the lower portion of the upper corner die segment to support the pivotal die segment. The advantage of the sheet metal bending machine is increasing bending accuracy.
