PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a polymer composite having a specific molecular structure and excellent workability, mechanical strengths, elasticity, heat resistance, etc., by polymerizing a specific N-substituted maleimide polymer with an acrylic ester monomer or a mixture thereof with a vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION:The title polymer composite is produced by polymerizing a specific N-substituted maleimide polymer represented by formula I (wherein R1 is a 1-12C alkyl group, a 3-12C cycloalkyl group, a 6-12C ring-substituted alkylphenyl group or a 7-12C ring-substituted alkylbenzyl group and n is an integer of 10-2,000), an acrylic ester monomer or a mixture thereof with a copolymerizable vinyl monomer. The polymer composite has an interpenetrating polymer network structure wherein the acrylic ester polymer or copolymer chains are entangled with the above N-substituted maleimide polymer chains. |
