PURPOSE:To improve the intake efficiency of a surge tank while inhibiting the influence of vibration with a lighter weight by building it up of a box section and a lid section in such a separate double structure as to enable a plastic molding and welding the two sections together. CONSTITUTION:A surge tank is built up of a box section 10 and a lid section 12 as two separate plastic moldings. The box section 10 has four joint tube sections 14 on the undersurface thereof and the box section 10 has an opening 16 on the surface opposite to the tube section 14. A hole 24 serves to introduce air into the surge tank from a throttle body. This allows a varied quantity of the surge tank to increase the length of the intake tube from the intake port of the engine body to the surge tank without a positive measure against vibration. |
