PURPOSE:To execute heat conduction to molten iron at high efficiency and to execute smelting reduction of iron material in the molten iron by blowing gas for stirring from nozzles at bottom wall into the molten iron in a horizontal type refining furnace and also oxygen from lance at top part and the oxygen into slag layer from nozzles at side wall. CONSTITUTION:Nitrogen gas is blown into the molten iron 7 from plural pieces of the blowing nozzles 10 at the bottom wall in the horizontal refining furnace 5 to execute stirring and also the oxygen for decarbonizing is blown into the molten iron 7 from each lower ends of plural pieces of the lances 6 at top part. By this method, decarbonizing reaction is executed in the molten iron 7 with coal continuously supplied from a supplying tube 11 to generate CO. At the same time, the oxygen for secondary combustion is blown into the slag layer 8 from each of plural blowing nozzles 9 at both side walls of the refining furnace 5, to execute the secondary combustion of CO, which is generated in the molten iron 7, in the slag layer 8. By this method, the heat generated with the secondary combustion is conducted to the molten iron 7 through the slag layer 8 and the smelting reduction is executed to the iron ore continuously supplied from the supplying tube 11 at good efficiency in the molten iron 7. |
