PURPOSE:To restrict the number of times of digital copy by providing a discrimination part to discriminate the propriety of the digital copy of an input signal, a copy control signal generating part to obtain a copy control sub-code signal and a control signal converting part. CONSTITUTION:The discrimination part 11 of a system controller 27 decides the propriety of the digital copy of the input signal according to a copy control signal consisting of two bits including the bit 2 of a channel status to show the propriety of the digital copy of a control signal contained in a digital signal connecting between apparatuses. Then, the copy control signal generating part 12 which obtains the copy control sub-code signal consisting of two bits by which an output signal regenerated from the copy control signal shows the propriety of the digital copy in a case that the input signal can be digital-copied, and obtains the prescribed copy control sub-code signal in the case of analog recording is provided. Further, the number of times of copy can be restricted by outputting the copy control signal of a value different from the digital input signal at the time of the reproduction of a recorded signal, and outputting the prescribed copy control signal to the copy control signal converting part 22 even at the time of the analog signal. |
