PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of production and the size of the above demultiplexer with a smaller number of parts and without requiring high- accuracy alignment by providing an optical branching member and wavelength selection filters between the light exit end face of a 1st optical fiber and the light incident end face of 2nd optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:The optical branching filter 8 is interposed between the light exit end face of the 1st optical fiber and the light incident end face of the respective 2nd light exit end faces of the optical demultiplexer which branches the light emitted from the light exit end face of the 1st optical fiber 2, allows this light to enter the plural 2nd optical fibers 4, 6 from the light incident end faces thereof and emits the light rays of the wavelength distributions different from each other from the light exit end face sides of the respective 2nd optical fibers. The wavelength selection filters 10, 12 are provided between the optical branching member and the respective 2nd optical fibers and/or on the light exit end faces of the respective 2nd optical fibers. The number of parts is thereby reduced and the production cost and the size are reduced without requiring the high-accuracy alignment. |
