Piercing projectile with kinetic effect including a shaped elongate body for armour piercing. The shaped body of the projectile contains secondary projectiles such as rods 4 and means such as solid cores 1, 4 associated with a deformable intermediate element 2 to give rise to a radial displacement of the secondary projectiles 4 upon impact of the piercing projectile and as it penetrates into the armour. Application to piercing projectiles with kinetic effect, for increasing the effectiveness thereof at the back of the armour, by widening the zone affected. <IMAGE>
