<p>Signalling device for operation in a bore pipe for developing pressure impulses in a bore flow, these signals giving an indication of the position of the bore pipe, comprises a tubular body for arranging within the bore-pipe; signal means in the body for developing pressure impulses following the interruption of the bore flow and in response to the resumption of the bore flow, the signal means being provided with an organ which is movable in one direction for the interruption of the bore flow, and movable in another direction for resuming the bore flow; means for cooperation with the organ for developing the pressure impulses depending on the movement of the organ, and with means which are sensitive to gravitational force, and operate to define the degree of movement of the organ when the bore flow is interrupted. The means comprise organs which are sensitive to gravitational force and a number of buffers which can be selectively contacted by the sensitive organs for controlling the signal means in order to develop pressure impulses in a number defined by the orientation of the bore pipe relative to the borehole.</p> |
