TIMING SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER NETWORK SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To ensure accurate timing by obtaining the time required for transmission of data between computers and sending the set time data including said data transmission time to the computer of the remote side. CONSTITUTION:A 1st computer sends a time setting start message to a 2nd computer via a communication circuit. While the 2nd computer sends the time DELTAt2 covering the reception time point T21 through the transmittable time point T22 of the time setting start message to the 1st computer. Then the 1st computer obtains the time DELTAtl required for transmission of data based on the time DELTAt2 and its reception time point t12 as well as the stored time setting start time point T11 and transmits the selected set data showing the set time point T13+DELTAtl in consideration of the time DELTAtl. The 2nd computer set the time of its own timepiece based on said set time point data. Thus the timing error is reduced.
