PURPOSE:To improve resistance to chipping, mechanical workability and surface smoothness by molding the mixture of Al2O3, TiO, TiO2 and a specified compd. and calcining it. CONSTITUTION:The balls for pulverization which have been solid-solubilized with a stabilizer and made of ZrO2 and 0.5-6 pts.wt. at least one kind of compd. selected from among MgO, Y2O3, CaO and a compd. changed into MgO, Y2O3 and CaO according to calcination are blended with 100 pts.wt. principal constitutional raw material in which 60-80wt.% Al2O3, 20-40wt.% TiC and 8-20wt.% TiO2 for the total of Al2O3 and TiC are blended and these are uniformly mixed and furthermore 1-10 pts.wt. ZrO2 powder is mixed with this mixture according to wear of the balls and thereby a raw material is obtained. Then, a molded form obtained by molding this raw material is calcined and ZrO2 particles consisting of tetragonal crystal are dispersed in the sintered body and also 0.4-11wt.%. composite oxide crystal phase produced by allowing at least one kind selected from among MgO, Y2O3 and CaO to react with Al2O3 is incorporated therein. |
