PURPOSE:To enable a vehicle to sufficiently display its running performance by setting a wheel alignment target value in accordance with a kind of a tire, mounted to the vehicle, and automatically adjusting wheel alignment in an assembly process of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Two or more wheel alignment adjusting stations S (S-1 to S-3) are parallelly provided in an assembly line of a vehicle, and an automobile is carried into any of these stations. Each station S is constituted being provided with a measuring device measuring a toe angle, camber angle, etc. of each wheel of the automobile and an adjusting device adjusting the toe angle, camber angle, etc. in accordance with a deviation of the measured result from the target value. While a tire kind detecting means 100, detecting a kind of a tire mounted to the vehicle, is provided, and the above described target value is suitably changed in accordance with the detected kind of the tire. By the method thus obtained, the vehicle, from the point of time it is detached from the assembly line, ensures the wheel around able to sufficiently display tire performance. |
