PURPOSE:To produce the nonlinear optical crystal from molecules having optical nonlinearity by forming said crystal of a material having the optical nonlinearity and an org. material having crystal formability with this material. CONSTITUTION:The material having the optical nonlinearity and the org. material having the mixed crystal formability with this material are added to a solvent and are mixed or are added thereto after previous mixing, by which the materials are dissolved. The solvent which can be used may be any solvent which dissolve both the material having the optical nonlinearity and the org. material having the mixed crystal formability with said material and is exemplified by, for example, polar solvents such as methanol, acetonitrile, dimethyl sulfoxide, and dimethyl formamide. After the respective components are dissolved in the solvent in such a manner, the mixture is recrystallized. The crystal having the nonlinear optical characteristics is thereby produced from any material having the optical nonlinearity. |
