The outer end of a tape 4 wound on a reel 3 carries a pressure fastener element of the type comprising a number of non-metallic hook-like members or tufts and is picked up by a similar fastener element attached to the periphery of a rotating disc 16 which is then swung on an arm 15 to a position over a rotatable disc 6, drawing the tape 4 across magnetic heads (12 and 13, Figs. 2, 4 and 5) and a capstan 7. The discs 16 and 6 act as a take-up spool. Automatic reel ejection (Figs. 6 to 10) and loading (Figs. 11 to 13) may be provided. |
