PURPOSE:To improve the reliability, by integrating the device control section and the rotation control section into a single package IC. CONSTITUTION:The rotation controller for a spindle motor comprises a device control section 8, a phase comparator 9 and a synchronous lead-in circuit 10 which are digitally integrated and contained in a single package. The device control section 8 produces a motor ON/OFF signal C based on a signal fed from a host system. Furthermore, the signal fed from a reference oscillator 2 is subjected to frequency division to produce a reference frequency signal D. The phase comparator 9 compares the phases of the rotation signal A fed from a rotation sensor 6 and the signal D, while the synchronous lead-in circuit 10 detects the input state of the signals A, D and produces a signal F. Then they are combined in an adder 11 to produce a motor control signal B. |
