PURPOSE:To make the critical current density higher by inserting a mixture material, having a particular composition and composition ratio, and a metal core wire into a metal sheath to form a composite material, and subjecting a basic member wire made of the composite material to a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A mixture, prepared by mixing a first and second oxides expressed by the formula I, formula II with a composition ratio 1:1, and a core wire are filled into a metal sheath 5 to form a composite material. Then, after a multiplicity of the composite material are bundled together and reduced in diameter to form a strand, the strand is subjected to a heat treatment in an oxygen gas stream to produce a superconductive multiconductor wire 9. The element in the oxides is subjected to a fusion and diffusion reaction by the heat treatment and thereby an oxide type superconductor 7 with a higher critical current density is produced. In the formula I, II, A expresses one or more of group IIIa elements in the periodic table, B expresses one or more of group IIa elements in the periodic table, and y expresses an integer 5-15. |
